We are a community of people in Portland who believe that everyone deserves a safe place to be sick and to die – regardless of whether or not they struggle with unstable mental health, are actively using substances, or have unflattering paper trails.
We are a farm, producing food for our residents, our neighbors, and our supporters. We understand how much joy can be had in watching chickens move through the world and we know that nothing is more needed in a place where people are dying than an abundance of nourishing and sustaining life. We appreciate the context created for our own lives through our farm’s perpetual birth-life-death-rebirth cycle.
We are a clinic, providing walk-in services such as foot care, wound care, STI testing and treatment, and Medication-Assisted Treatment to our neighbors and respite beds to members of our community recently released from hospital who need a safe and supportive space to continue their healing.
We are a haven for reducing harm, whether that's through providing clean drug use supplies, running a Managed Alcohol Program for those with Alcohol Use Disorder, or through the practices we engage to heal the land - this unceded land of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Mololla, and many other Tribes who make their homes along the Columbia River.
We are a community gathering space, opening our kitchen, dining area and meeting hall to others doing the good work of creating justice in Portland. We are a space for a Free Fridge, we are showers for those who need it, and we are laundry for those who lack access.
We are a thread in the great web of mutual aid running through our city, wending around red tape and connecting resources to those in need.
